Pastor Syeda Carter is the Pastor and Founder of Deliverance Worship Center in Deptford, New Jersey. Previously, Pastor Carter was the Associate Minister of Soul Saving Center in Salem, New Jersey where her Pastors were Elders Irvin and Crystal Hinmon. She has been evangelizing for 24 years and has recently served as the chairperson of the National Young People’s Department Executive Council of Mt. Sinai Holy Church of America, Inc. She has served as the President for two consecutive terms totaling four years and Vice-President for two years for the National Youth Convention of the Mt. Sinai Holy Church of America Incorporated. Pastor Syeda has served in other capacities such as: local church Youth Leader, the Treasurer for the Pennsylvania/New Jersey District Choir, State representative, and workshop facilitator.

Born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, Pastor Syeda attended Trenton State College (now known as The College of New Jersey) on a full academic scholarship in which she received her Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in African-American Studies; She also completed graduate school at The College of New Jersey with a Master of Education Degree in School Leadership. She is the Principal of the John Fenwick Elementary School in Salem, NJ. Prior to the promotion, she was the Vice-Principal of the Salem Middle School and before her administrative promotions, she served in the Salem Middle School as a 7th & 8th grade literacy arts teacher, a mentor, counselor, basketball coach and founder of “Teenage Girls in Transition;” receiving Teacher of the Month and Teacher of the District Awards along with a rich history of success in coaching, leading the middle school girls’ basketball team to 5 consecutive tri-county championships and assisting the high school girls’ basketball team in winning their first ever in school’s history South Jersey Group 1 State Championship. 

Dedicated to the community, she has served on numerous boards in various positions. Present member of: Pi Mu Omega Graduate Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Salem Branch.

The most important thing to Pastor Syeda is having the preeminent presence of the Lord and His anointing in her life. Her life scripture is Joshua 24:15b, “… but as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.”
