History of
Deliverance Worship Center Inc.

 Deliverance Worship Center was birthed out of obedience and the will of God. The call to the pastorate was revealed to Syeda Carter by the Lord in 2002; her response to the call did not come until 2010. On the morning of Thursday, November 4, 2010, the Lord instructed her to go to Deptford, NJ. Without direction or any particular place in mind, she obeyed God and followed His prompting. 

On that rainy morning she rode around Deptford just looking at various buildings. She located and entered Victory in Christ Christian Center, where her college friends had been Pastoring for over ten years. Though they were out of town, an Elder began to minister to her about the call God had placed on her life. The Elder was not aware that she was confirming the words that God had spoken to Pastor Syeda in previous years. Also, it was confirmed that God had called her to start the ministry in Deptford, NJ. Now two other factors were to be revealed…time and place. 

She met with Pastors John and Isha Edmondson in January 2011, and the affirmation of the ministry continued. They began to mentor, direct and encourage Pastor Syeda to start the work God had called her to do. With much prayer and counseling, the work began. Deliverance Worship Center opened its doors for worship on January 15, 2012, 11:00am at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Deptford, NJ with thirteen people in attendance. With five of the thirteen in attendance committing to the ministry, God has blessed the work. Just recently celebrating one year in ministry, Deliverance Worship Center’s membership has a little more than tripled in size. In addition, there have been more than 150 visitors, in the first year that have come to fellowship and/or financially support Deliverance Worship Center.
